Millennium Quay Services (MQS) registered with Property Redress Scheme
Since October 2014, all firms involved in property management must belong to a property redress scheme such as The Property Redress Scheme (PRS) or The Property Ombudsman Limited. If you are unhappy with the service you receive from a property manager, you must first complain to that firm.
In 2019 MQS was fined £5,000 by Greenwich Trading Standards as “The company had failed to be a member of a Redress Scheme. This was after receiving advise in writing and in person” (Royal Borough of Greenwich fixed charge notice). It subsequently joined the PRS.
Any complaint is best settled directly with MQS. If this isn’t possible or if MQS fails to respond appropriately to a formal complaint within the PRS criteria, there is the option to pursue this with the PRS.
Criteria for making a complaint to the Property Redress Scheme (PRS) are:
1. A breach of the Member’s obligations under the law
2. When legal rights have been impinged or breached by a Member
3. When a Member has not acted in accordance with a Code of Practice it has signed up to
4. When a Member has not administered a transaction as efficiently as would be expected
5. Unfair treatment of the complainant by the Member; including, but not limited to:
– Rudeness or discourtesy
– Not explaining matters
– Poor or incompetent service
– Avoidable delays.
A formal written complaints must first be made to the firm concerned within 12
months of the incidence before a complaint can be raised with the PRS. Details of
the complaints procedure can be found at: https://www.theprs.co.uk/consumer/how-it-works
Rendall and Rittner belong to another redress scheme: The Property Ombudsman Limited
